Cuvée de Castleton

cuvee de castleton bottle and teku

Beer Style: Sour Ale with Grapes
Grapes: Muscat
ABV: 8.4%
Aged: Oak Barrels
Malts: 2-Row

Since we filled the first barrel of Cuvée de Castleton in 2007 we have continued to push the boundaries of sour ales. This year’s batch stays true to the original version with notes of white grape, toasted oak and a touch of funk. Drink now or lay it down for years to come.

Sensory Profile

Sensory Profile

Enjoy in a flute or wine glass. Perfume, apricots, apples, and honey are a few of the aromas you will encounter with this one. A hint of oak and “wild” aroma will come through as the secondary aroma characteristics. The flavor is tart, fruity, acidic, and truly unique.
Food Pairing

Food Pairing

Drink this beer as you would champagne. Enjoy it with oysters and clams on the half shell. Raw scallops are also a great match.

“Golden ale fermented with grapes and spice, aged in oak barrels.”
