Scott Vaccaro
+ Owner and Head Brewer
+ AKA -
The Captain

Scott began brewing beer at the ripe old age of 17, and hasn’t looked back since.  A graduate of UC Davis Fermentation Science program, Scott has been fortunate to mix the practical knowledge gained from years of home brewing with 4 years of brewing education all with the goal of opening a brewery and creating beers for people to enjoy.

Vincent Vaccaro
+ Brewery Tour guide
+ Tasting Room

AKA... Dad...Vince...St Vincent...CFO. If you asked Vince  two years ago what he thought he would be doing weekends, pouring beer and giving tours would have been the last thing to come out of his mouth. An avid golfer and aspiring vintage race car driver . You can stop in and chat with Vince on Fridays and Saturdays about Scott, beer, golf and his vintage Datsun roadster. Vince’s favorite CL brew is the '" Captains Reserve- DIPA ".

Linda Vaccaro
+ AKA…MOM…Mrs. V…the real saint!

One of the key figures responsible for the raising up of Scott…aka The Captain.  Yes, this was a challenge, and yes, the challenge continues.  Let’s see where shall I start…decorating the tasting room, the conversation went something like this, “Mom, I’m just going to hang up some tapestries, and throw in a couple of old couches”.  The reply, “ NO, are you crazy? This is Westchester, County, not your dorm room”. Linda’s favorite CL brew is the Pleasantville Smoked Porter.  She is an admitted Chocoholic and loves the Porter’s hint of Chocolate and Coffee.  She has been known to add chocolate ice cream to her pint of Porter.

Jill Vaccaro
+ Tasting Room Bartender
+ Indentured servant

After living in Utah for a year where the beer wasn't more than 3.2% Jill was forced to return to Westchester to serve and enjoy high alcohol and high quality family made beers. Although her time at the brewery has an expiration date she is proud that her brother has made his dream of opening a local brewery come true.

Megan Flynn
+ Beer Festival Assistant
+ Scott's Personal Stylist
Megan is a part time brewery employee and a full time student and nanny.  She enjoys attending all brewery festivals and events and loves meeting all of the people who enjoy Captain Lawrence beer as much as she does. In her free time, she enjoys keeping up with celebrity gossip and lounging around in her countless pairs of sweatpants:)

Joe Rinello
+ Brewery Sales Representative

In his past life Joe was a computer teacher at Port Chester High School.  It’s kind of hard to believe that Westchester’s #1 beer salesman wasn’t selling beer at all just a few years ago.  All it took was a lunch at the Lazy Boy Saloon with Scott V, and a few pints, and Joe was ready to begin his new career.  It is Joe’s job to make sure you can find Captain Lawrence Brewing Company beers in all your favorite restaurants.

Kenny Dorsch
+ Homebrew Instructor

It was the site of Kenny standing over a boiling pot of homebrew at his stove back in 1995 that began the dream that has become Captain Lawrence Brewing Company.  It was Kenny that taught Scott V how to brew his first batch of Homebrew.  When he is not serving up cold CL beers in the tasting room Kenny enjoys sailing with his fist mate and wife, Vicky Dorsch, and home brewing, of course.

Scott Tobin
+ Assistant Brewer
+ Sports Talk Radio Fanatic

Scott Tobin grew up in scenic Vista, NY which is where his taste for light lager and spicy mustard was first developed.  After graduating from Pace University he stumbling upon Captain Lawrence Smoked Porter causing him to leave the world of tasteless light beers for good.  Scott is now working full time making sure the people get their fill of Captain Lawrence beers.

Erik Bagen
+ Professional Keg "rassler"
+ Brewery Promoter

After spending time skiing in Colorado and river raft guiding in Chile, Erik heard the tapping of the first CL keg in a dream one night.  After making the long journey home, he grew up in Brewster, Erik spent time serving our beers at one of our first accounts Restaurant 121.  But when the opportunity came about to help liberate the palates of the people of this area with fresh and flavorful brew he jumped at the chance and joined the Captain’s army.  Keep an eye out for him cruising in the CL van.

Jessica Rizzuti
+ Brewery Artist

Jessica Rizzuti is a professional, freelance artist, and is well versed in working with a wide variety of art media and subject matter. She has been designing labels and logos for the Captain Lawrence Brewery since the early days of its conception. Jess is happy to be working with one of the finest brewers in NY State.

Jessica earned her BFA in Textiles from Rhode Island School of Design in 2003. She furthered her studies at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City in the areas of handbag design and computer graphics. Jessica plans to have her own line of handbags in the future.

Randy Shull
+ Chief IT / Computer Engineer
+ Jack of all trades

If it has wires and we can break it, Randy can fix it.  After practicing his trade at local radio station WFAS for 18 years, Randy decided to call in sick for the past 3 year to help ensure the brewery is able to function.  An avid boater, Randy can usually be found floating in the Hudson sipping a cold CL brew as soon as the ice melts.  Next time you come in for a sample and hear the stereo blaring you can blame Randy…he hooked it up.

Gary Steinel
+ Beer Ambassador
+ Beer Drinker of the Year 2002

After teaching for 33 years at White Plains High School, and tasting more beers than anyone we know, Gary has decided to join the Captain Lawrence Brewing Company crew as a Brewery Ambassador, promoting CL beer everywhere he goes.  An avid cyclist and runner, Gary has the ability to drink as much beer as he wants without gaining a pound.
